Network World Names 10 Hottest Start-Up Companies
Start-ups to Watch List Highlights Compelling Technologies from the Industry's Up-and-Comers

April 25, 2005 - Southborough, MA -Network World published its annual list of 10 Start-ups to Watch - dynamic young companies with innovative technologies aimed at solving networking's toughest problems. This list is part of Network World's special Signature Series edition, The Network World 200, which ranks the largest U.S. network companies by revenue, profits, growth, and other key financial measurements.

Drawing from a field of about 75 candidates, Network World editors handpicked the 10 Start-ups to Watch based on the strength of their technology and management team, and the depth of their financial backing.   • Univa, Elmhurst, Ill. - enterprise grid computing software and consulting services.
  • Virtual Iron, Acton, Mass. - software that combines independent physical servers into a scalable symmetrical virtual computer.
