Network World Leads With Highest Concentration of
Corporate IT
Results of Intelliquest CIMS v12.0 Research Study Revealed
SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- October 24, 2005 -- According to the recently released Intelliquest Computer Industry Media Study (CIMS v.12.0) Network World ranks #1 among all publications with the highest concentration of Corporate IT professionals [see chart]. The study also verified that Corporate IT remains the biggest spenders with a $383K average purchase per respondent.
According to CIMS v12.0, Network World has the highest composition of:
- Corporate IT involved in the purchase of:
- Computer Systems (59%), Servers (48.5%), Software (58.2%), Networking/Telecomm (52.5%), Wireless Data/ Telecomm (42.4%) and Storage (45.1%);
- Corporate IT/ Senior Management (77.8%);
- Enterprise-wide buyers (44.2%) and brand-specifiers (58.2%);
- Corporate IT who lead initiatives to purchase products or services.

In a related story, International Data Group (IDG) announced overall results across all its IT publications in a press release on October 7, 2005 in which it noted that far it outdistanced its competitors in reaching technology buyers and influencers. The release cited the same 2005 IntelliQuest CIMS Business Influencer Study, with the news that the combined reach of CIO, Computerworld,InfoWorld, Network World and PC World is nearly four million technology business influencers (1). IDG reaches over two million more business influencers than CMP Media (2) and nearly one million more than Ziff Davis (3).
