If you're a sports fan who obsesses over your favorite teams and players, LeaguePad could be a big help. This application lets you track and analyze the performance of your favorite teams and players -- whether they're professionals from around the world, or a group of kids in your town.
LeaguePad was created with European football (that's soccer to us Americans) in mind. It comes pre-loaded with stats on three football leagues: England, France, and Germany. Using the included data, you can analyze the performance of the teams, their players, and even the referees. You can study statistics in excruciating detail, such as how often a team wins when their opponent scores first, or average time of ball possession.
The software can be used to track sports other than soccer -- you could import or manually enter data on a basketball or baseball league, for example. You also can use it to track your own sports league; you enter the teams, players, and game details, and LeaguePad will analyze their performance just as it does with professionals. You can even export the results to a Web site for posting.
While some of its features might be overkill for your average youth soccer coach -- they may not, for example, need to know exactly how many minutes have passed since the last goal was scored against their team -- LeaguePad will let you stay on top of all the statistics you can stomach.
Note: The free version of LeaguePad only allows you to enter 60 results in each league. To enter more than that, you must purchase a license. This product is priced at 50 Euros; the price given as $63 USD reflects the exchange date on the day this review was published.
