The test bed consisted of the Domain Controller (MS Enterprise server 2003), Member Server –Exchange 2003 Controller (MS Enterprise server 2003/2007), and Member Server - BlackBerry Enterprise Server v5.0 (MS Enterprise server 2003). We installed 2GB of RAM and 2.6-GHz processor or higher on three Intel servers. We met the minimum requirements of the installation parameters.

We performed the testing using an AT&T Curve 8310 smartphone device, handheld software Version 4.2.2.170, with all features enabled. Five users were configured, and we evaluated all the BES v5.0 administration features available in the BES v5.0 release. Some features may not be available on the smartphone device, depending on the service provider.

This evaluation was conducted using the NSA E7500 UTM by SonicWall and a Cisco 3560G Catalyst Switch, providing advanced remote monitoring for the BES v5.0 system testing.

Return to test.
