Stay tuned for CES coverage!By Anonymous on January 6, 2008, 8:33 pmHey, we're back on the blogging train after a few weeks off (holidays, etc.), and now I'm in a hotel room in Las Vegas getting ready for the annual funfest known as CES (Consumer Electronics Show). Jason Meserve, John Cox and I will be hitting the floors looking for the best in consumer electronics, most of which have an effect on businesses and the networks. On the plane ride out (a very bumpy flight getting into Las Vegas with its weather), I was able to read an advance copy of Nicholas Carr's new book, "The Big Switch", a really good book comparing the rise of electric utilities at the start of the 20th century to the current movement in IT of grid computing, utility computing, virtualization, and Web 2.0. Speaking of Carr, be sure to check out the Network World Chat event with the acclaimed author, this Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. EST. If you thought his last book, "Does IT Matter" was controversial, wait until you hear what's in this book.
