RE: 20 useful Web sites for IT professionalsBy Anonymous on January 15, 2008, 7:59 amNice well rounded list, I especially liked that ratebeer made this list.
List for IT professionals?By Anonymous on March 13, 2008, 10:08 amList for IT professionals? Come on. Lolcat builder? ratebeer? Get rid of those two and add something that actually has to do with IT.
Another Useful SiteBy Anonymous on January 23, 2008, 12:27 pmAnother site that could displace one of the non-tech sites listed is eventid.net. It allows you to search, based on a minimum of the event ID number to find something that may help you resolve issues on your machine or server. Not every event has an entry, someone must experience it first and cure it, then submit the fix to the site, but a very large number are. Once you navigate to the page containing your event, you are presented with a number of solutions that have worked for others, links to Microsoft KB articles and other MS info, etc. For general use the site is free, but you cannot click on links to the articles mentioned in the solutions section to reach the sites mentioned in the link. An inexpensive subscription obviates teh need to manually navigate to the place, or to follow the more cryptic links that may also be provided. Check it out the next time you are wandering about your Event Viewer.
Jack & Jill charity driveBy Anonymous on January 22, 2008, 4:36 pmI've been looking for a good place to donate older toner cartridges and mobile phones, but it appears that this organization is in Ireland!! Not sure that it makes good economic or environmental sense to ship this stuff internationally... Got anything closer to home???

Pop-up infections reduce usabilityBy Anonymous on January 16, 2008, 5:20 pmDictionary.com has been in my favorites list for several years, but the insipid pop-ups that plague the site is a crying shame. The same for Snopes.com, another really useful site I use frequently for research, is filthy with pop-ups. A crying shame.
