smart phone hackBy Anonymous on August 13, 2009, 10:08 amThis is for what? the i phone can be hacked thats why i use mine with tmobile
What?By Anonymous on July 19, 2009, 10:01 pmI've read your comments - And most of you are trying to force your opinion down everyones throat. Blah-blah is faster or I love it. I don't really care what YOU love. Have you tried both? No? Then shut up. One thing that does annoy me is many smartpnones can be hacked and programmed with Linux/unix programs; that will never happen with Apples product, so if you are fairly techsauvy and want to create a specific operation you can with the smartphones. But Apple has a lot of apps, so you might find your app already there; you may not be able to modify it, but ...
idk By Anonymous on July 18, 2009, 3:55 pmwhats better the iphone or the black berry storm idk i can get eather 1 but i cannt decided on which on is better
Iphone vs blackberryBy Anonymous on June 22, 2009, 6:27 pmwell you cant mms with the iphone but you can with blackberrry and just now blackberry launched an app store...but i think they still have a year to go b4 they can catch up to iphone...hey guys remember there were no apps when iphone first came out it was just a touch screen phone with a few touch features...
BB wins againBy Anonymous on June 11, 2009, 3:41 pmI phone is not a phone anymore..Its an app store. You use so many apps, so that by the time you needa phone all the battery is gone! really it sux!! all my friends use MY phone toward the end of the night!!
I-Phone Wins!!!!By Anonymous on May 10, 2009, 5:53 pmThere is no way that Blackberry can compare to what Apple has shelled out and will continue to shell out. Blackberry is not even comparable to the I-phone. Seriously my life is easier with the I-phone. I can handle so many daily tasks with this device. With all of the applications that are available and the ease that they are available. Blackberry can never say "there is an app for that." Maybe they should have an app for Blackberry users to convert to I-phone!! lol
BB Vs. IphoneBy Anonymous on May 2, 2009, 8:05 pmNo competition, it just does not exist cause if you go iphone you ain't comin back to no other phone BB is slow, unreliable and hard to use with the sure type (or whatever it's called) screen trust me on this. "Give BB a few years or so" and what iphone is just gonna stand still ??? no way jose. If you ask me stick to the iphone and be happy and less annoyed (cause every gadget has glitches and i do mean EVERY). As for all the Iphone haters that say "blackberry is the best" stop for a sec and evaluate accurately if not, keep them fingers of the keyboard so that people can get a real opinion on stuff. But one thing puzzles me tho, why do people here point out the glitches of the BB and say nothing about the Iphone??? Sure they ain't that many but still, be fair ;)
iphone rulesBy Anonymous on May 1, 2009, 6:36 pmI have a iphone and it is the best.My friend has a storm and he hates it.so if you want to buy a phone buy a iphone.not a black berryjunk.
Errr.....By Anonymous on May 26, 2009, 1:23 amBlack berryjunk? Not very clever...do you know what IS clever? iPhonee
iphone is betterBy Anonymous on May 1, 2009, 3:28 pmi have the blackberry storm and it sucks i hate everything about it. its too slow, it doesnt anything fun to download, and the ringtones are crappy to. it does take good pictures, but i dont take pictures that often so that doesnt matter to me!!! the sound quality is just aweful especially if you are on speaker they can hardly hear you. i have had problems with this phone since i got and you know whats even better, i called verizon to see if they could help me in anyway and they said no i would just have to put up with it!! i thought to myself i just paid all this money and i feel like i wasted it!!! and they couldnt even fix it they said everyone was having that problem and that i would just have to deal with it!!! THANKS FOR NOTHING VERIZON!!! i am currenty working on getting an iphone but att makes it so hard!!! but i will have an iphone!!!
this sucks By Anonymous on April 22, 2009, 1:32 pmi think that when having a cell phone it should just be used as a phone and for texting that is it!
allBy Anonymous on April 23, 2009, 7:37 pmI have the Storm but i like the iphone. the storm is to bulky and fat where the iphone is thin. i like how verizon is cheaper but iphone cant twist to the side while texting. Flaws for both but go for the iphone.
what?By Anonymous on April 23, 2009, 12:46 pmwhat's the point of advancing technology then? might as well have stuck with the bag phone if all you're gonna do is just talk..
BB vs iphoneBy Anonymous on April 21, 2009, 8:50 pmIf you all remember, 1st gen iphone had these similar problems when it originally came out! Give BB a year to work on development issues and that will be a great phone! Overall I am in the same boat as most of you are. I am trying to decide which to go with. I am a BB user, I am having a hard time trying to decide to switch or stay. I am getting tired of doing research, so I will try the iphone and give my opinion when the time comes that I have one!
B-Berry Storm Vers I-PhoneBy Anonymous on April 16, 2009, 3:50 pmThe storm is full of holes. The screen freezes hard to use the virtual keyboard and too big and bulky. The click screen is not much of an advantage either all in all a big disappointment. I am looking to check out the I-phone to see if it is better. (All my business counterparts love the i-phone)
Blackberry ROCKSBy Anonymous on March 29, 2009, 2:59 amBlack berry hanbds down beats the iphone or any other phone in the world it is the best phone u will see by far and it wil be the phone of the furture!!!
Re Blackberry ROCKSBy Anonymous on April 1, 2009, 2:30 pmI see that it hasn't done anything for your spelling!
APPLE WINS HANDS DOWNBy Anonymous on March 5, 2009, 7:38 amI cant believe people are comparing these 2 i actually left verizon AND payed the early termination fee. to get the 3g iphone. the iphone it way more reliable dosent freeze and reboot the interface of the blackberry is horrible and the keyboard is just crazy! People who havent had a chance to experience both of these devices from friends or family its a shame because once you have an iphone you be soo glad that was your choice.
I feel the same way....By Anonymous on March 30, 2009, 5:54 amI feel the same way....however, I don't know how easy it is to type with the iphone....please, let me know.
Verizon network won me overBy Anonymous on February 14, 2009, 8:29 amI thought I'd share that the line in the sand for between iphone and the BB Storm was who the carrier was. In my case, I work in a count next to mine and the only cell service there is offered by Verizon. I research both, played with both and the differences are minimal. Both phones rock! I wouldn't be disappointed purchasing one or the other. Again, I had no choice as I had to go with the provider that offered service in the area's I needed it most. It would be great if both companie's offered both phones. It would also be great if both companies had the same coverage. BTW - I asked why AT & T did not have service in the area where I needed it. The CSR told me that the government had their hand in it and that only Verizon was allowed to put up cell towers in that area. I need to research it more but it is a shame that the root of my decision trickles down from the government.
What about music and movie applications?By Anonymous on January 29, 2009, 10:56 pmI am at a serious block trying to decide whether to get the Storm or the iPhone. I am currently with verizon and have zero complaints with their service, but have heard terrible things about AT&T. However, I travel overseas a fair bit so AT&T's global coverage might prove very useful, I don't think VZW has this capability but could be wrong (they definitely don't have it on my Motorola Q I currently use). Anyway, service quality aside, I'm really looking for an all-in-one device, and that is why I love the iPhone concept. However, I hate the fact that to view movies and listen to music you have to buy it all from iTunes. I have loads of DVD's at home I would prefer to rip and then transfer onto my device, but I don't think you can do that with an iPhone can you? Can you do it with the Storm? I do like the other varity of application the iPhone offers though. I don't really care about the office functionality of the Blackberry OS as I would never use it for Word, Excel, PPT etc, I would definitely use the email but I think both phones offer that. As you can see, I'm very much an amateur when it comes to all this, but what would you suggest for someone like me who wants the phone first and foremost, but also really wants the music and movies capability?
No problem on the iTouch / iIPhoneBy Anonymous on April 3, 2009, 5:30 pmCheck out DVD Ripper, Videora iTouch converter and iTunes. I use these apps to put both music and movies onto my iTouch. Music is easy, DVD movies are a bit more work but still not too bad.
Heres some honest "to the point" help By Anonymous on April 2, 2009, 6:54 pmI have had both phones and i can advise the following * BLackberry 1) needs a BIG BIG software update -extremely slow overall-this was my REAL only dissapointment 2 ) looks great -for me better than the iphone 3 ) has much more value for a seasoned mobile user,mms,3.2 meg camera amongst other things 4 ) E mail works MUCH better than the iphone -the iphone is not a "live" service,BB is,enough said 5 ) Image of videos on the BB for me is the same as the Iphone -no major difference there 6 )Call quality i would give 3 out of 5 *IPHONE 1 ) Battery life is really really rubbish but due to the O/S on it it has to be that way 2 ) In the end of the day its an ipod with phone capabilitiess-simple as that really !but so $$$$ 3 ) its does what its supposed to do ,great software, works perfectly ,very fast 4 ) does not have a good camera, does not have simple basic mobile features (mms, copy and paste) 5 ) Its not good for word, excel docs in my experience 6 ) Call quality is good i would give 3 out of 5 I had the BB and sold it after a good 3 weeks use ,now have the Iphone ,my opinion is simple- if i could have it my way i would have the Blacberry Storm once again instead of the Iphone but ONLY !!!! if the issues with the software and O/S had been sorted and worked overall like the iphone does ,that said i do still keep a track sometimes in order to see if these issues are sorted and once they are if the BB Storm by then is still in fashion no doubt i will get another one but until that day i will stick with the Iphone Hope this makes some sense and indeed i hope you make the choice that best fits you
Music and MoviesBy Anonymous on February 27, 2009, 1:25 pmI don't have the iphone, but have heard that it and the ipod are basically the same in regards to adding music and movies. If that is the case, it is just a matter of converting to files to the neccesary format. Do a search for Cucusoft Ipod Movie & Video Converter for movie conversion. It changes the movie file to mp4 format. That works on an ipod and may be what the iphone asks for.
Oh yea you can rip and putBy Anonymous on February 10, 2009, 6:19 pmOh yea you can rip and put all the movies you want on your BB as well on the iphone just google dvd ripers and video converters and for a few bucks you will have your all collection of movies on you device
Storm - A huge disappointmentBy Mitchell Ashley on January 27, 2009, 10:42 pm
Though Blackberry had me in their camp to start with, I'm now convinced the Storm is greatly inferior to the iPhone 3G.

I'm really hoping in the endBy Anonymous on January 27, 2009, 10:26 pmI'm really hoping in the end the BB comes on top. Every Apple person I've ever met has been a wannabe. You all know what I'm talking about. For example, that guy in his early 20's who pushes a few buttons in Dreamweaver and gives himself the title of "web developer". That girl who adds a outer glow to some text in Photoshop and calls her self an "advertising specialist". Apple has created a generation a wannabes who are just savvy enough to fool generation X (most employers) on resumes.. The iPhone looks great, but I can't have that kind of aura following me around.
Is not our fault you are not savyBy Anonymous on March 9, 2009, 12:54 pmWhat??? If you cannnot use an IPHONE because you are not technology savy is not our fault. Regards, Generation Y
I AGREEBy Anonymous on February 17, 2009, 5:18 pmI TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! finally......someone that thinks th same..

Blackberry Storm on Verizon vs iPhone 3G on AT&T By Anonymous on January 14, 2009, 9:54 amGetting Started - With the iPhone, I plugged in my ActiveSync settings into the phone and I was on my way. With the Blackberry Storm, I needed to put up a virtual Windows 2003 Server to run BES (or BPS - whatever they call it) since it doesn't run natively on Windows 2008. I needed to create a separate user account and set permissions. This was all a major PIA and cost me a few hours. RIM gave me a free tech support instance as well as a free BES user license so I can't complain too much now that everything works. Network - Having Verizon is a big plus. AT&T was giving me way too many dropped calls. This was the main reason I switched. I mean come on people, I don't care how many bells and whistles a phone has. If I can't hold a call on a "phone", what the hell is the point? Call Quality - AT&T has a slight edge here with GSM over CDMA. I'm pretty particular and it may not be noticeable to most. Phone RF noise - The RF noise emitted from the iPhone 3G gets into all my audio equipment (phones, amps, etc). The Storm doesn't seem to affect anything. Messaging - The iPhone interface is pretty, but that's where the fun ends. The Storm has one place where I can see my text messages, instant messages, missed calls, sent and received emails, and in my case voicemails since I get my voicemails as wav files in email. Also, AIM will stay logged in all the time in the background. As an aside, multiple apps can run in the background on the Storm. Also, the predictive typing is better on the Storm. No more accidentally storing the wrong word in the dictionary. And finally, copy and paste on the Storm is a great feature that's missing on the iPhone! YouTube - The interface in the Storm is not as pretty as the iPhone, but just as functional. I had to dig a bit to find this app. Navigation - Telenav ($10 a month) rocks with turn-by-turn directions, voice guidance, and voice input! The iPhone with Google Maps is a joke in this category. Voice Dialing - This is a nice feature on the Storm! Calendar and Contacts - I'd say it's close here. Both devices seem adequate. Picture Viewing - The iPhone is great with the zoom pinch gestures and moving between pictures! The Storm needs some work here. Camera - The Storm has a 3.2 MP camera with flash. The iPhone has a 2 MP with no flash - what??? Very disappointing for the iPhone. The Storm also has a video recorder built in. Nice! Browser - The Storm browser works for most of my daily needs. I also tried Opera Mini which is also just okay. The iPhone browser, on the other hand, is fantastic! The speed on both networks (EVDO vs 3G) seems good. Music - Haven't done too much with it. Seems adequate. Although, if I were looking for primarily a media player, the Storm would not be my first choice. Storage - The Storm has a removable media card although it's in a stupid place (behind the battery). I could get the 16GB card but for now 8GB is fine. Changing your mind on the iPhone size means changing your phone. App Center - The iPhone has the huge edge here. No more Line Rider or Zippo Lighter. In all seriousness, I did like the Mint.com app, so that will be a loss. There were a few other cool apps, but mostly it was nonsense that I could do without. User Interface - The iPhone interface just looks better and responds better in most aspects. The Storm is sluggish when scrolling around graphics or pictures. Although, typing on the Storm seems pretty responsive most of the time, especially when compared to Windows Mobile smartphones. Reliability - I've noticed a few crashes on the Storm so far. I know there's a new firmware version coming out soon. Hopefully that will address some of the bugs. The iPhone crashes seemed to happen frequently also. This is without jailbreaking and a minimal amount of apps. Both phones recover with a reset. Jake Persofsky Insperia, Inc http://www.insperia.com
Very disappointed with theBy Anonymous on January 8, 2009, 5:35 pm
Very disappointed with the quality and information level of this slide show. This slide show makes it seem that the Storm is a viable alternative to the iphone. Nothing can be further from the truth. The Storm doesn't even come in the same class. For starters, being able to carry your music is an important consideration. Without itunes on the Storm, you have to carry another music device. (Sure there may be other alternatives to itunes, but with such a large market share of itunes, this battle will never be won.)
Regarding enterprise connectivity, the less you have a corporate's IT dept. messing with your phone the better. Again, in today's world, you want to carry less devices. Not carry one corporate device, and another one that can take pictures. The issue here is the corporate IT departments need to finally accept that we are almost a decade into the 21st century, and not encumber employees with 1980s style thinking.
The slide show correctly points out that the App Store makes iphone the winner. However, by pointing out winners on a per slide basis misses the point. The advantage of the App Store is huge. Have you seen the kinds of applications, both productivity as well as fun, available. You can read books, your own PDFs, check flights, and to blow off steam, play blackjack, flight simulator, solve crosswords.
The problem with these kinds of reviews are that they are done by so-called experts. Unfortunately, these people just use the devices for a brief period and then write "expert" reviews. These don't make any sense and really have no value. Unless you use each application for some time, all you can ever report on are a few more words than on each device's website.
huh?By Anonymous on February 18, 2009, 7:01 pmYou obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Both devices play music and movies. One advantage of the Storm is that you can remove the (up to) 16 GB memory card. The storm also has a standard headphone jack outlet to play these media files. It can play iTunes music files as well as mp3's too. There are definitely more apps for the iPhone, but the far more useful apps are also available for the Storm. Go ahead and play your flight simulator on the iPhone. Oh, and by the way, you can also check flights and view PDF's on the storm as well... it's not as clear cut. The iPhone has just been on the market a couple years longer.
iphone vs stormBy Anonymous on January 5, 2009, 3:02 pmfirst off been a die hard verizon customer for years, they took the best care of me than any company.. i cant even count how many free treo's, bb's, moto's, etc., i got for free and billing adjustments, etc... they were great and gave me everything i asked for... on the other hand im an apple guy.. i love the iphone and have found ways around the mms problem and once u jailbreak ur iphone it OPENS a whole new world of possibilities.. if i just had a reg iphone that was not jailbroken i would look at it as a toy to... but i can ssh, vnc, host a website, run a grep on my sun server (in LANDSCAPE mode, yes! and see almost the whole screen).. i can open any doc... if i want to edit it, i jus use google docs and it works out fine.. should def have a ME account and jailbreak your iphone... ive had about 4-5 blackberries and was never super impressed... i hate at&t service but since the 2.2 update i havent had a dropped call... mine works great with the occasional freeze up.. which BB's do ALL THE TIME... turn off and then on, good to go.. get a spare battery Richard Solo (1200) and u can charge ur iphone 2-3x's... i'd love to get my hands on a crackberry storm, but i really doubt it can be that much better... all im really missing is copy and paste.. well and a flash would be nice on a great cam... thats my 2 cents... great phone, pda and ipod with an iffy carrier (i can plug my phone directly into my line out on my car and it sounds jus like my ipod (no adapters needed that put it in mono - ive dj'd off my iphone before.. luckily i didnt get a call, lol... ; and a 'what if' phone on its 15th edition with great network that doesnt look nearly as slick and defined as the iphone... but yes i'd still love to check out the storm... i agree with verizon the use for wifi is slim so if they really fixed everything the iphone couldnt then maybe its a winner... my whole company is mac and jumped ship from verizon blackberries to at&t iphone when the gen 3's came out.. .overall good call i think...
To Edit or Not to EditBy Anonymous on December 12, 2008, 10:59 amI find it interesting that there is all this talk of apps and yet nobody mentions one of the most relevant items: you can edit Office documents on the BB Storm. The iPhone 3G only allows you to open them up as attachments. So, while the iPhone has a slicker interface, cooler design, and arguably a better keyboard, anyone who wants to do real work will need a BB; a BB Storm if you want the touch interface or a BB Bold if you want a real keyboard. Bottom line: if you're just doing music, emails, and video games (oh, and actually using the phone), iPhone may be the way to go. If you want all of that but also the ability to edit your excel file and, arguably, have a clearer line when you actually use the phone, BB Storm seems the way to go. What say you oh argumentative denizens of the internet?
To Edit or Not to Edit: ReplyBy Anonymous on December 31, 2008, 7:34 pmYour comment just made my decision. I need to be able to edit files on the go (doesn't every business user need that at some point?) - Word and Powerpoint especially. I wish there were a plain Notepad or simple Text app for the BBerry, however, so I could edit HTML on the go... anyone know of one?

that is great and all, wooBy Anonymous on December 5, 2008, 4:42 pmthat is great and all, woo hoo, verizon has a new phone. Too bad ALL of the features will be locked out.
Browser? By Anonymous on December 4, 2008, 12:04 amI see little mention of the Storm's browser. The World Edition BB I (unfortunately) have now has an unusable web browser. So, is the Storm's browser as good as iPhone's? A USABLE mobile browser is a very powerful tool. I'm not a BB fan after buying the World Edition. All of the applications look like they were written in 1996 and never upgraded. BB rested and did not innovate for about a decade until forced to do so by Apple.
STORMBy Anonymous on December 3, 2008, 12:29 amstorm is new... just like the iphone was... just got mine yesterday... storm is way better, only thing i liked about the iphone more was the ipod... storms new im sure verizon will have way better apps for it than the iphone soon!!!
Storm By Anonymous on December 2, 2008, 3:57 pmI love the storm and please dont knock it ........it is the best phone on the market !!!!!! so please trash the iphone and get yourself a STORM STORM YOUR LIFE AWAY ..........
MultiMediaBy Anonymous on December 2, 2008, 10:47 amThe Blackberry Storm beats the iPhone in multimedia offering MMS, and video recording. iPhone does not!
I think the iPhone willBy Anonymous on November 29, 2008, 5:47 pmI think the iPhone will always be on top because they started the whole smart phone touchscreen era. they know what the consumers want but wont always release right away thats there only problem. for instance, MMS, why havent they implemented it into the iPhone? everyone is nagging Apple to add it but they just keep holding back.
blackberryBy Anonymous on November 26, 2008, 2:08 pmI was all set to buy the blackberry until I tried it. I had a hard time getting it to input the right things. It seems to misread my fingers all the time. I decided not to buy it! It all costs $30 more/month because it is a Blackberry. I like Verizon best and will just have to wait until they come up with an even better phone.
iPhone is first past the tapeBy Anonymous on November 25, 2008, 5:46 pmThe iPhone is the device best adapted to the changing state of the Enterprise - more peole are working at or from home, and mixing work with personal matters. The whole concept of lifesytle - whether it concerns work, investment, entertainment, privacy or research, is changing dramtically with the advent of increased mobile communications. The Blackberry is still hooked into traditional paradigms - the lack of WiFI is a classic gotcha, forcing people down old-style carrier-dictated and expensive modes of communication. Blackberry will have WiFi within one year, but it will be too late. Just as the Internet broke open the monopolies of distribution of news and information distribution, so shall the iPhone and similar devices break open the barriers to communicating that information. Watch it happen.
The crackberryBy Anonymous on November 25, 2008, 3:45 pmC'mon people think about this is apples 2nd phone, how good do you think they will get. This is crackberry 10th 15th phone please. BiasBy StevenTheCelebrity on November 21, 2008, 2:45 pmAlot of people that rate the 2 phones see the iphone as more of a technical fad more than anything else, most of whom rate it without even ever used one. This i find to be most irritating, yes i have an iphone and yes i like to use it and find it most entertaining. Alot of people that jump to get a blackberry are going to get alot of the same kinks in the system the same as new iphone users granted the fact that blackberry has been out longer it seems that they are trying to follow apple in more ways than one, a great example being their form of the appstore. Even though, i would still like getting my hands on one of these devices, though it being on the verizon network is my main deterrent.
Storm is FAR BETTERBy Anonymous on November 20, 2008, 8:05 pmI recently bought Blackberry Storm and I am seriously amazed to see how great looking it is and an amazing software it comes with. Storm is truly, purely, realistically far better than iPhone. I have used iPhone but there are lots of things missing, but in Storm you can't name a single thing which is missing except just wi-fi which is not VERY useful for everyone. Storm's screen quality is better, software is simple superb, no problem in MMS, Emails and anything. Clickable screen which really gives you real feeling of buttons. Lots of useful application use and most important thing turn by turn navigation. Battery time is far better than iPhone too. And probably most of the people will not agree with my one point that Storm is even better looking. Well I think that. Both phones are infront of me atm, and Storm looks even better. I was iPhone lover and I still like that, but if we compare both phones, Storm is far far better.
FAR BETTER?By Anonymous on February 17, 2009, 10:57 am"Sure the storm doesn't have Wi-fi but hell who needs that? (Um... virtually everyone?) What I really like is the way the buttons click" (lol) "Lots of useful application use" (?) Turn by turn navigation (which the iphone also has) and uh...the battery (big whoop) and uh....it looks better (yeah right)

ATT Will Kill The I PhoneBy Anonymous on November 13, 2008, 9:13 pmI really like the I phone and hate ATT. I tried to get one and was subject to a $500 per line "deposit" Seeing as we wanted 2 phones I told ATT to go jump in a lake and am going to stay with Verizon. I will buy the Storm and an Ipod touch. Best of both worlds...and no crappy AT&T
preference is keyBy Anonymous on November 10, 2008, 3:17 pmThe storm seams to have everything that the iPhone has as well as "fixes" if you will, to things that are wrong with the iphone, such as the keyboard, picture messaging, a camcorder, etc. however I am still having a hard time telling myself that it is the better option. It should be a no brainer when it comes to the tech specs, however, I love the way the iPhone os is set up. It is so easy to navigate through. I haven't used the storm yet so i cant be sure, but i have an ipod touch and i have to say I love everything about it which is why i wanted the iPhone to begin with. Even though the storm sounds like a technical wonder compared with the iPhone, still, i think preference is key.
iPhone Killer!By Anonymous on November 6, 2008, 6:12 pmEven if the Storm is only "as good" as the iPhone - I'm kicking AT&T to the curb. I've dropped my last call with AT&T - looking for a similar iPhone alternative so I can use the darn thing! Good-by iPhone!
Storm vs IPhoneBy Anonymous on November 7, 2008, 12:05 pmI have an iPhone now and it's nice but it's really a toy. It's great for games, music, surfing and impressing your friends, but I want a communication tool and Blackberries are the best communication devices out there! Blackberries are for men and women . . . iphones are for fanboys and fangirls! I have a Storm on order and when it arrives my iphone will become what it really is . . . a glorified ipod. So there!
iPhone 3G or Blackberry Storm?By Anonymous on October 27, 2008, 4:31 pmIt's really confusing. Personally I can't decide. But if we think about limitations, Blackberry Storm is better. Obviously iPhone is impressive because of its get-up & user interface. But Storm would be genius for everyday use. I'll wait for Storm's price plan from Vodafone and decide later.
SERVICEBy Anonymous on October 27, 2008, 12:31 pmPLAIN AND SIMPLE.... IPHONE IS THE MOST IMPRESSIVE, COMPLETE, ALL-IN-ONE DEVICE IMAGINABLE. BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, WHAT YOU PURCHASED IS PHONE SERVICE. AND AT&T CANNOT COMPETE WITH VERIZON. FOR THAT REASON, APPLE WILL NEVER HAVE THE MONOPOLY THEY COULD HAVE HAD IF THEY HAD PARTNERED WITH THE RIGHT PROVIDER.
Beware of severe StormsBy Anonymous on October 26, 2008, 12:37 amI don't have AT&T. But I do have a Verizon wireless card for my laptop. when I'm traveling or away from the house, I NEVER use wifi. The main reason is because the Verizon network is so much more consistent than trying to connect to wifi networks. With Verizon, I know it will always work and I don't have to worry about security. I think BB Storm is going to be interesting. I think functionally it will give the iPhone serious competition. What the Storm doesn't have though is that very hip and cool Apple logo.
Storm or IphoneBy Anonymous on October 24, 2008, 6:39 pmApple products are for elitest people with too much money.
the storm looks cool, but iBy Anonymous on October 19, 2008, 8:40 pmthe storm looks cool, but i dont think any phone will be able to compare to iphone. the storm will more than likely not be as smooth as the iphone nor do i think their app store will be comparable. I am sticking to my Iphone!
Storm is amazingBy Anonymous on October 22, 2008, 3:02 pmThe BB Storm is amazing. Saw it the other day at a VW conference and I will say it is amazing. Sound quality is awesome, the blackberry rep had movies on his phone and they had amazing sound. Also the Storm will have 1 GB Internal Memory and is coming with a 8 GB Memory Card, ya thats right coming with it, so that is very inexpensive if you ask me. Also about WiFi, who cares, Verizon's coverage is amazing that we do not need WiFi, because our internet works almost anywhere, not like AT&T. Used to work for a GSM company, where we roamed with AT&T, I had no coverage in Lousiville. IPhone might have been the "hottest" phone but the Storm will crush it.
They should have displayedBy Anonymous on October 15, 2008, 1:10 pmThey should have displayed the iPhone 3G model. Newaise, iPhone looks a lot more professional and high tech, it looks better and cleaner... I like how apple keeps the details simple. Blackberry always looks thick and complicated. iPhone has more apps to it and has almost everything, I jus wish they had video. I'm sticking to apple I loved the iPod it's good for hiphop dancers to choreograph a routine anywhere nd it looks kool haha
iPhoneBy Anonymous on October 13, 2008, 5:43 pmThe iPhone kills the storm. more internal memory slimmer multi touch interface app store the list goes on and on nothing can compare.
Storm (When you're ready for big boy pants.)By Anonymous on October 14, 2008, 8:25 amJosh must be Joshing us again. "The iPhone kills the storm. more internal memory" ...and after I insert my inexpensive 16Gb SD Card? (with room to take along several TB in less space than a sugar packet!) AND... sync it all to DRM free music even iTunes if I choose. "slimmer" by .05" WOW!!! what an advantage. "multi touch interface" When you're done playing with your multi-touch interface, you can pick up your Storm and do some real work. Besides, the "touch & click" also has it's advantages. "app store" Apple may have the advantage on launch, but my guess is that Apps for Storm will catch up for entertainment and Pass Apple for the corporate environment. "the list goes on and on nothing can compare." At the top of that list is "Phone". ...and because the Storm is on Verizon Wireless' bulletproof network it's AT&T that cannot compare. (BTW, How's your battery life holding out? ...and are those cracks I see in the corners of your iPhone?)
StormBy Anonymous on October 13, 2008, 9:52 amCan't believe they didn't include WiFi into the Storm. That alone gives the edge to the iPhone.
it has wi-fiBy Anonymous on October 15, 2008, 2:28 pmit has wi-fi
No it doesn't!By Anonymous on February 20, 2009, 9:07 pmNo wi-fi on the Storm!
ChoiceBy Anonymous on October 12, 2008, 7:13 pmI find the Storm more attractive with its matured business features. If the iPhone was on par with these the choice would be harder.
In regards to the twoBy Anonymous on October 10, 2008, 11:51 pmIn regards to the two phones.... How's your mum? We went out...
Choose wisely.By Anonymous on October 10, 2008, 1:47 pmOf course, you have to choose a carrier based on where you will be making and receiving calls, not on "national" or "regional" surveys. Verizon is usually rated a couple of percentage points higher here in Boston, for example. But Verizon simply isn't reliable when making calls from my home or my office. So I switched to AT&T and now experience much greater reliability. Fortunately, the national providers typically have a "try before you commit" clause in their contracts - something that everyone should take advantage of when signing up for a new personal contract. It's more difficult when your company has an exclusive provider, because they rarely take into account your call habits.
iPhoneBy Anonymous on October 10, 2008, 1:46 pmThere is one thing every report on the iPhone is missed. The iPhone is not a touch screen it is a multi-touch screen, covered by an Apple patent. So when doing a iPhone vs. BlackBerry or any of the others remember Multi-Touch Screen, only on the iPhone.
WRONG!By Anonymous on October 22, 2008, 7:54 pmThe Blackberry Storm is multi-touch. Do some research.
you're definately on theBy Anonymous on November 3, 2008, 2:56 pmyou're definately on the crack-berry. the multitouch is NOTHING like multi-touch on iPhone. Its just another piss poor attempt at copying. You are the one that needs to do some research
Iphone VS StormBy Anonymous on October 10, 2008, 11:58 amI love the Iphone but I detest AT & T. Their slogan really should be 'Less Bars In Less Places"... I have never had so many dropped calls, & dead areas. I cannot wait for the day I can choose my carrier. The one thing that will kill the IPhone is Verizon. AT & T can't die soon enough for me!
hahah while i agree ATTBy Anonymous on October 15, 2008, 2:18 pmhahah while i agree ATT sucks... "'Less Bars In Less Places" would actually be good. Less Bars in more places would be bad.
Physical buttons are the deciding factorBy Anonymous on October 10, 2008, 10:00 amFor me that the Blackberry storm still has physical buttons you can use to answer the phone is the "iPhone killer" functionality. If you are an outdoor person in the summer the iPhone gets to be impossible to answer or make calls due to the heat ( it uses thermal differences to "see" your finger) above @90 degrees (yes I know that is lower than body temp) it stops "seeing" your finger. Making it impossible to answer or make calls. At least this is true here in the Carolinas, and at my brothers place in Texas. Also heaven forbid you are working on anything (ie your car etc) and need to answer the iPhone or make calls, oil or grease on your hands also prevents the iPhone from recognizing your finger. The Storm (barring my physically testing it yet) seems to be a better considered practical usable technology. Where the iPhone seems to me to be technology for the sake of technology and not to actually be functional across a broad spectrum. is more "whizz-bang" then "tool"
DO SOME RESEARCH!!!By Anonymous on December 1, 2008, 7:10 pmThe iPhone does not recognize touch from changes in heat, it uses conductivity. The electrical difference between the grounded state of the screen and the point where your finger is touching...
i agree but also...By Anonymous on November 1, 2008, 11:49 pmalot of people seem to think that its "impossible" to beat the iphone...people grow up somethings gunna surpass it but Practical Technology Junkie said is a very good thing. the blackberry storm uses the iphone's capacitive touch technology and the physical push. the storm may indeed be the iphone killer we just have to see.
iphone is nice, for someBy Anonymous on October 10, 2008, 9:01 amiphone is nice, for some things, but for business i think the Storm is going to dominate, RIM's OS is much better for the business world, I think it will continue to set the standard. But no one can be sure until the phone actually comes out. Plus they call look at all the mistakes of the iphone and avoid making them as well. They have started out well by going with Verizon.
Storm or iPhoneBy Anonymous on October 10, 2008, 12:42 amThe only reason why I'd contemplate the Storm is b/c it's on Verizon. I can't stand AT&T service and being that I travel so much the coverage is key. The iPhone features though are incredible. I'll make the final decision once the phone is out. The keyboard might seal the deal though.
New Customers would pick Blackberry/VZWBy Anonymous on October 10, 2008, 7:14 amI can understand if your entertainment life had already been locked into iTunes & you already purchased the iPhone that staying with it probably makes sense, but if you've not yet committed yourself why would anyone go with ATT's crummy network/customer service? And don't get me started on how misleading their ads have been in the past. WiFi issue aside, isn't the ability to swap out 16Gb SD memory which means that you really will be able to "take it ALL with you" that makes RIM/VZW the best value as an entertainment device? Just think how cheap those chips are likely to be in a year. Never mind the fact that when the hurricanes hit you're much more likely to still be able to talk on the VZW network.
well, duh.... of course theBy Anonymous on October 9, 2008, 4:27 pmwell, duh.... of course the iPhone is better, all the rest are copies (not none done as well as the iPhone). If only Apple & Verizon were able to strike a deal at the onset of the iPhone, they would truly dominate the market ... no phone producer would come close for a very long time.
... lets see ... iPhoneBy Anonymous on October 9, 2008, 9:33 pm... lets see ... iPhone can't send photos MMS, can't shoot video at all, has an oh so yesterday 2005-era cheap 2 MP camera, locked into iTunes just to add MP3s or podcast and unable to bluetooth wirelessly and quickly or even delete podcast without iTunes, can't replace the cheap sealed battery that last half a day, does not receive true 3G to the point to where class action lawsuits are popping up, has cases that are cracking, has no true dedicated GPS with turn by turn directions, can't listen to music with bluetooth, can't stop dropping calls because of the defective chips and/or ATTs poor network, has no cut and paste, no memory slot for additional or changeable memory, has an app store that restricts developers from making better programs than Apple can come up with, such as the app that bypasses iTunes, (class action lawsuit anyone? like the Microsoft of the 90's?) .... hmmmm did I leave anything out??? Storm has all of this, minus wifi, plus all the "fad" iphone has. And you call the iPhone king? True the iPhone is the sharpest looking phone, but that's it. This is nothing more than a fad phone that the myspace crowd has to say they have to sound cool. I am a current ATT customer who waited a year for the new iPhone to come out only to see it only added GPS and 3G. I am leaving for Verizon for a better phone on a more reliable network with better customer service.
iPhoneBy Anonymous on January 6, 2009, 12:47 pmYou point out most of the weaknesses in the iPhone - and interestingly they can mostly be fixed by new firmware. There are a large % of iPhone users who would rather control their phone - but the iPhone is a great phone. Once other phones become great phones (maybe the Storm is) then people will move to them since they aren't controlled by Apples odd policies. Or - maybe - maybe - Apple will change their policies - nahhhhhh
U R WRONGBy Anonymous on December 7, 2008, 7:06 pmHave you seen the software update? That is the beauty of apple, they mess up and then they fix it fast, unlike microsoft. Y do u think that the battery is bad? it is better than the storms. sure u can replace the storms battery... but seriously how often do u need to switch it when u can get 6 hours of wifi battery time, 3g is good even if its slower than marketed, but i don't c the storm with wifi? do u? o and one more thing, blackberry's app store sucks and is also not open, they also block apps
" I am leaving for VerizonBy Anonymous on November 25, 2008, 2:53 pm" I am leaving for Verizon for a better phone on a more reliable network with better customer service...." Before you start waving the banner of Verizon's customer service, know that (at least locally) all of the customer service reps have started acting like a bunch of kids that just got fired from McDonald's. Poor attitudes, worse customer service... It almost seems that to get anywhere you have to dial "611", and even that is getting shaky. Hell, I had one rep call me a liar the other day about how long I've had my current phone. Sadly, it's the same all around, but I jhust don't want anyone to be disillusioned about Verizon having good customer service.
I agree with verizon'sBy Anonymous on December 5, 2008, 4:34 pmI agree with verizon's customer service not being as good as some folks are saying it is. I was with them, on a family plan, with 4 phones on the plan for 7+ years and they treated me like sh***t. I'm with AT&T now and have no complaints. My 2-yr contract w/AT&T just ended and I do want to get an iPhone type phone. The Blackberry Storm ads on TV look nice. So I'm trying to decide what to do. I was disappointed to see that though the Storm has AT&T logo on it (or I thought it did) it's only available thru Verizon. I don't want to go back to them. They were nasty.
well, see yaBy StevenTheCelebrity on November 21, 2008, 2:57 pmwhen you run to this new phone just remember, this is still relatively new territory for all phones, and good luck on the verizon network, personally i hated it.
iPhone is king. By Anonymous on November 11, 2008, 10:24 pmBlackberry's are great if all you want to do is check your email. If your company doesn't have BB enterprise server they are worthless. The browser sucks, the apps suck, everything about them sucks. Don't buy an iPhone because it is too good for you. Stick with the BB.
what the hell are youBy Anonymous on November 3, 2008, 2:50 pmwhat the hell are you talking about? I can do all that with my iPhone. just jailbreak it
What do you meanBy Anonymous on November 10, 2008, 5:26 pmI'm in the market and Iphone\Storm are my choices - Leaning towards the Iphone - What do you mean "Jail break it"?
Jailbreaking (vs Unlocking,By Anonymous on November 20, 2008, 12:21 pmJailbreaking (vs Unlocking, there IS a difference) is the process of adding to the firmware the ability to add 3rd party apps - apps that are not in the Apple App Store. For example, I just installed the game Quake - yes, Quake - on my iPhone after Jailbreaking. Too cool. I jailbroke using iClaried's process. http://www.iclarified.com/entries/index.php?caid=2&scid=11&seid=2 There are other sites. Google them if you want to learn more about it. I would suggest that you stay away from anything related to "Unlocking".
JailbreakingBy Anonymous on November 22, 2008, 4:56 pmJailbreaking like Unlocking voids the warranty. But if you are a "hacker" or like playing around with this type of stuff it is cool. If you are one of those people though who don't want to chance messing up your warranty, don't do it.

LG KE850 PradaBy Anonymous on October 9, 2008, 6:17 pmYou sir are an Idiot, Apple copied the LG KE850 Prada phone. The LG KE850 Prada phone was on the market 6 months before the iPhone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHs8_OGGNs4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBl4djMnEy8

RE: Smartphone showdown: iPhone vs. BlackBerry StormBy Anonymous on October 9, 2008, 12:23 pmThe Storm looks nice, but I am sticking to my iPhone since it's my personal device that I use for work on occasion. I do wish the iPhone were on Verizon, mostly for the better coverage in the New England area.

So I am going to go through the decades starting with the 1920s through 1990 and talk about what was popular in the world of fashion. We’re trying something new this week.
