waste of time - interpretation of previous postBy Anonymous on March 2, 2009, 6:16 pmI like the black hole idea - what does it signify to have a black hole of dead cell phones, what happens when they cross the event horizon, what about all the lives that communicated through them - are they still there in the cell phone; is a cell phone like a headstone for its past user, and what if the cell phones aren't dead and the black hole is consuming them and all of them have voices crying out to communicate before death - interesting. And then the tar pit - would it be like the person is being consumed by the technology that supports them but in the end the technology has no life of its own - that is unless the phones aren't dead and are broadcasting the background static of the magnetic field of the earth; or, is the person raising up from the tar, going forth and being more that just a persons constituent parts, a cyborg or phone and flesh - is that what is on the horizon of the black ooze from which this 'person-phone' emerges? And I love the concept of the ICBM missile of cellphones - what a conversation starter (or stopper!) - I mean what does that say about speaking with a person remotely, about the content of words separated from personal interaction and their power - is it armed and dangerous (fully charged) or is it a dud without any impact power whatsoever. Maybe this "artist" can read this post and learn a few things.
Is that it?By Anonymous on February 25, 2009, 3:10 pmHow long did this take exactly? Damn, he could have at least smeared some feces on it and made things a bit more interesting...
Huh?By Anonymous on February 25, 2009, 1:30 pmThis isn't art. He's just arranged a bunch of cell phones in swirls.
And what is itBy Anonymous on February 25, 2009, 12:49 pmWhat is the recurring theme you see?
And what is itBy Anonymous on February 26, 2009, 10:08 pmMy 6 year old could have taken the red phones and at least created a heart? I hope this guy isn't getting paid for this. BTW I like the feces idea, it help define a little more the style he is using.
and what is it?By Anonymous on February 25, 2009, 3:23 pmfailure
Something looks familiar...By Anonymous on February 25, 2009, 12:11 pmI seem to be seeing a reoccurring theme in his sculpture....

If the trees By Anonymous on August 23, 2009, 9:31 amIf the trees (and mountains) were comprised of cell phones, as is what I suspect from the low res shots, then they're fantastic.Abercrombie & Fitch on Sale, Hoodies, Jeans, T-Shirts, Pants, Polos abercrombie and fitch
huh?By Anonymous on August 3, 2009, 5:08 pmI did decompose some cells and radios and used the "innerds" to make jewelry like pendants... and mounted them... added bling... i am not sure stacking phones = art... debe
NahBy Anonymous on March 2, 2009, 11:40 amWhat would be slick, using all the phone LCDs to create something more than what amounts to stacking dominos. However, I did like his paintings. If the trees (and mountains) were comprised of cell phones, as is what I suspect from the low res shots, then they're fantastic.
Is this a jokeBy Anonymous on February 27, 2009, 2:59 pmWow, what a woft
Waste of time By Anonymous on February 27, 2009, 10:19 amAnd he calls himself an artist!
waste of timeBy Anonymous on March 2, 2009, 6:00 pmI agree - he could have imbued these objects with some form of meaning, creating for instance a 'black hole' of dead cell phones - and other similar "things" of destruction (like a tar pit with half a person, made of course out of cell phones, or an ICBM of cell phones) that then could be interpreted and discussed. The lack of baggage attached to his 'art' - the fact that they are not conducive to interpretive discourse beyond the simple 'whorl' and 'spiral' of geometry makes them an utter waste of time, and effort. If you're going to be an artist then have something to say and make us think, if only a little bit, about what the subject matter has to say (as imbued by objects representing the art) - I mean come on!
