5 things we love/hate about Win 7By Anonymous on June 2, 2009, 2:09 pmVmware ESX is having this feature for years! I don't see the point in praising a technology or vendor that is always rebranding instead of inventing usefull things.
thanks.very helpful.By sunnyjiao on October 26, 2009, 8:32 amBut seriously, I normally skip most of slide show based or audio base articles, unless its hyper important. Thanks for the article on Win7 !Thanks for sharing it. Nice article, very helpful. Thanks! Nike shoes USA

Slideshow AdvertsingBy Anonymous on June 9, 2009, 1:40 amYes.. It would be awesome if it was just one page of the 5+5 love/hate material. But I guess the intention is to push advertising. Which can still be achieved put putting in an ad next to each of the 5+5 's. Of course the page load time would be factor. Like someone mentioned, the slideshow should/could be an option. But seriously, I normally skip most of slide show based or audio base articles, unless its hyper important. Thanks for the article on Win7 !
Sorry I like the slideshowBy Anonymous on June 2, 2009, 5:01 pmI don't need to get into the weeds on everything I read. I like the slideshow and find it a useful way to take a first look at a topic. I don't think there is any discussion about ceasing to write articles altogether, right? I like the suggestion about being able to print the slideshow in some form whether it is article based or just slides/commentary.
Love/Hate?By Anonymous on June 2, 2009, 4:57 pmThis Win 7 thing better cook dinner, serve it, and then clean the dishes. Over the last 6 months, I've (oh, dare I say it) fallen in love with my new Vista running laptop... and Ubuntu 9 looks pretty good too... I've completely given up on Search in Windows post 2K, can't trust it at all. Will Win 7 be any better?
Re: Print Slideshow?By Anonymous on June 2, 2009, 4:29 pmHow about getting rid of slide shows completely. They're almost ok for celeb cleavage shots, but for everything else they are a complete waste of time. Just write the d%*mn story with pictures inline.
print slideshow ?By Anonymous on June 2, 2009, 3:59 pmHow about letting us print the darn article ? (Slideshow) Actually would be nice to have a text only article option to print as well as one with the graphics, to allow us choice.
How about a chief usability gripe for power usersBy Anonymous on June 2, 2009, 3:01 pmA chief gripe among power users I've talked with regarding Windows 7 is the lack of the standard, logical, consistent Start Menu. No longer a power-user's option as it was in XP and Vista, we're now forced in Windows 7 to use the artsy-fartsy, ever-shifting, much less intuitive and utterly goofy default Windows XP/Vista-style "Start menu". Bad enough Microsoft has wrapped Windows like a circus tent. More proof that the Mac-oriented artsy crowd who like everything to be "fashionable" and demand change-for-change-sake-alone are taking over Microsoft. What happened to functionality, the hallmark of Windows over the fashion-oriented Mac crowd?
the standard, logical, consistent Start Menu. By Anonymous on June 5, 2009, 4:34 pmAgreed. Visa H Prem SP2 working fine as. Did turn back some features to regain simple, easy look of XP. Do not want the pretty for sake of pretty Mac stuff. Went down that road w/ Commie Amiga. Been PC all the way since. Funny thing is I have a Staples coupon for $25 and a $34 MS settlement coupon. Staples expires 10/24! Hope enough time to decide on which version of Win 7 will be sweet spot. Seems lots of it. H Prem was deal. Need something like that. Maybe there will be those special OEM deals where you buy just a dongle or mouse to qualify for a cheap Win 7.
