You won't find many fanboys for these consoles, which unite terrible graphics with lousy games and underpowered hardware. Oh yeah--and some were obscenely overpriced, too!

For me The Atari 5200 wasnt a bad console.. in fact was great console, becouse has a Keypad controls functions, Pause, 4 buttons (Left han or right hand) and many other things..
The Atari 52000 was a very bad marketing, and was released in bad moment .. thats are veru diferent!..

RCA Studio IIBy Anonymous on August 10, 2009, 10:19 pmThe Studio II was NOT that bad. It had a 'back door' purpose: to get RCA HOME COMPUTERS into, well, homes. RCA had overextended itself by the time this thing was on the drawing board. Remember, they spent BILLIONS trying to perfect a VCR, only to end up reselling them from JVC. They spent BILLIONS trying use the Selectavision name and ended up putting that semi-cool (then) name on the CED video disc in 1981. So, they had this nifty little CPU-the 1802-and needed a consumer product. Enter Studio II. This 'video game console' was really a little 1802 computer. There were many articles published, back then, on how turn into a 'real' computer. If I recall correctly, the games were coded in an interpreter called 'chip-8'. Now, granted, it was hardly a task that most 'normal' people would undertake, but I'm not sure RCA intended this thing to be aimed at Joe User. Radio Shack sold them under the Tandy name as well. One other interesting tidbit: they were originally color, but ended up monochrome by the time they hit store shelves. There were eight to ten cartridges in total.
At one point, I had four of these things and six cartridges. I have to note, too, that this is the only game console that my mother could ever play. She LOVED the built in bowling game.
And I remember way too much about this thing...should I be worried?
