Completely agreei love my apple tv, it doubles as my home stereo (with all 50 days worth my music stored directly on the device), it's great to have a party and anyone with an iPhone or iPod touch can vote or control the music. Wireless speakers let me listen to the music on the deck and control it with my phone. I can rent movies for the same price as cable and along with boxee/xbmc I can watch movies from any computer or the internet directly on my TV. It's absolutely amazing and has changed the way I consume media in my home. I have recommended it to non-techie family members including my parents who have purchased it and absolutely love it. i would hardly consider it a failure.

Lisa BluesBy Anonymous on August 31, 2009, 5:46 pmI worked in a Computerland when the Apple Lisa premiered. They were so afraid that the users wouldn't park the hard disk heads before turning them off, that they designed the power down sequence to be software controlled. Unfortunately, the bloody thing would frequently lock up, and no matter how much you pushed the power button the thing wouldn't power off unless you pulled the plug. I used to make jokes that they'd eventually offer a downgrade kit for the Lisa (after they introduced "The Fat Mac "- the 512K version that would essentially turn the Lisa into a Mac, and they'd call it "The Obese Mac". Guess what - They did! Except they called it something else. Then, they had a run of Apple IIIc power supplies (that was the little portable) that would turn themselves on randomly after they had been powered down, and blow the motherboard. So, Apple not only invented the first computer that wouldn't shut down unless it really wanted to, they invented the first computer that would turn itself on!
Poor AppleBy Anonymous on August 28, 2009, 4:31 pmWhy pay more for a mac when you get a PC with more kewl stuff and less expensive. It seems to be a eliteism going on with mac users. now that is funny!!!
uh, rightBy Anonymous on September 5, 2009, 4:26 pmObviously you don't have a clue Mr. Troll because you've only been able to afford a cheap computer and need to find a reason to rationalize your crappy hardware, weak OS an lousy customer support.
More winners than losersBy Anonymous on August 18, 2009, 11:51 amClearly, Apple is very, very successful by any metric. The fact they had a few not-so-successful runs is to be expected. All large companies have their share of stinkers. One is more notable than the others considering their flagship product is rife with security issues. Not necessary to mention any names.
Rife with security issues?By Anonymous on August 19, 2009, 3:50 pmTaking about OSX I suppose? OSX has 5 times the security flaws of Vista and XP. Vista is a failure and rightfully so, but not on the basis of security. http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=758
Apple 3 and Mac XLBy Anonymous on August 18, 2009, 12:09 amHave we forgotten the Apple III? We ever sold only one of these big monsters. Then the two demo Lisas we had, one only was sold. Eventually both Lisa systems were upgraded to Mac XL with the addition of a Hard disk, 3 1/2 inch floppy and new board.
are you guys serious?By Anonymous on August 17, 2009, 9:29 pmapple tv a failure? you must be joking. that is the single best device i have in my home and has totally changed the way that i rent movies and watch tv. ever since US content was made available in Canada, it's been a huge hit among my non techie friends and family. i would recommend anyone who loves movies and finds themselves renting often to check out the apple tv
