wrongBy Anonymous on November 6, 2009, 8:35 amIf you actually look at the specs on the 3gs from apple, you will see that the display is 640 by 480 pixels, not sure where you got the number from.
Verizon Network Coverage - Broad But ThinBy Anonymous on November 1, 2009, 10:00 amVerizon's Achilles heel is their backhaul capacity from tower to core network. If the Android is a hit, they will suffer far worse than AT&T, and it will take longer and a lot more money to fix. The fix - 4G LTE - is not backward compatible with CDMA, so ALL current Android users are stuck with the current network. So, how much of the estimated $20 to $40 Billion in capital spend for 4G deployment in the next couple years will go towards upgrading walkaway old technology? Especially since Verizon also has their hands pretty full with terrestrial buildouts of FIOS? You guessed it. CDMA upgrades are the third seat on a two-hole outhouse. Out in the cold.
IF the 4G LTE upgrades are deployed on schedule and IF Android is successful, the users of Son of Android (LTE-compatible) will enjoy adequate coverage and bandwidth in, oh, 2014-15. Maybe.
Android FonesBy Anonymous on October 31, 2009, 10:43 pmI have had a Iphone since day one release for business use. Four weeks ago a purchased an Android based phone (HTC Hero) I missed my Iphone for around ten minutes. Android Rocks! I must say I like the idea of a hardware keyboard.
Ummm - the keyboard debate is NOT over...By Raargh on October 30, 2009, 3:55 pm"The debate about hardware vs software typing is probably over: few iPhone users complain."
Huh? What about the zillions of us who would never consider an iPhone partly because we can't stand having a huge chunk of the display taken up by the software keyboard? I'll NEVER buy a smartphone without a slide-out keyboard. Even better would be the ability to plug in a cheap, mini, external keyboard (like the one I use with my Nokia N810.)
