If you're giving employees VPN access, don't forget to have them sign a use agreement, too, users say. For example, the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif., mandates that employees sign and comply with a VPN-use agreement. Penalties - for example, loss of VPN access - are spelled out. Should a violation occur, an employee's supervisor is notified. Depending on its nature, a violation could lead to further discipline including firing, according to the university's extranet agreement.
