Description: I don't know why the folks at Brother sent me this extremely large and industrial-strength labeling tool as a holiday gift idea, but after I used it for a while (labeling power cords and other accessories submitted for the guide), I began to see the appeal. Sure, your wife might not like getting this under the tree, but businesses should definitely consider getting one of these if they have to do a lot of different labeling tasks, especially in rough conditions.

The PT-7600 is a rugged handheld labeler that includes rubber impact guards, a rechargeable battery, and has a USB port for downloading labels and information from included PC software. Like most labelers, you can just get started by typing in simple labels, or you can use the software to get fancier labels created (including logos, barcodes, etc.).

The system comes with a protective carrying case, USB cable and wrist/neck strap, as well as the bundled software. Tape sizes include 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, 1/2-inch, 3/4-inch, and 1-inch, and the labeler can automatically identify the tape size that's placed inside it.

Again, it's probably not the best holiday gift, but maybe there's someone deep within the IT organization who would love receiving this as a post-holiday thank you or as a way to increase their efficiency at work.
