Description: Whole- house audio done easy. No drilling required. No tools necessary. The Eos multi-room audio system is a wireless music distribution system for your home consisting of one core unit and up to four wireless satellite speakers. The tabletop core unit will dock any iPod with a dock connector. The iPod functions can be controlled with the infrared remote. You are not limited to using an iPod, however. Any other audio source, including an XM radio, MP3 digital audio player or even your existing stereo system, can be connected to the auxiliary input.

Audio is sent wirelessly to up to four remote satellite speakers via the company's GigaWave wireless technology, which it claims is interference-free up to 150 feet away. Each satellite has a detachable power supply, powered amplifier, speakers, volume knob and receiver in a unit about the size of a large dictionary. The satellite unit can be plugged and hung from a wall outlet, or the removable power supply lets you place the unit on a table or shelf.

Like the base station, each satellite is configured with 2.1 stereo sound, two high-frequency speakers and a subwoofer. SRS Wow sound enhancement technology helps make the small form factor sound a little bit bigger, and each unit puts out enough sound for low to medium background music listening situations.

The system sounded surprisingly well for its size. I could not hear any static or breaking up in the upper frequency audio, but I did hear some garbled noise from long sustained bass notes on the satellite speakers, even at very low volumes. Depending on what type of music you are listening to this was, at worst, mildly distracting. The company offers a risk-free 30-day free trial to let customers decide if they like the speakers.
