Description: The selling point of the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard is the backlit keys that provide illumination for typists who need to work in darker areas, or for people who are working at home late at night and don't want to use extra lights in order to see the keyboard. In addition, the keys are designed to be quieter than a regular keyboard, so you won't hear the "clickety-clack" of a person typing as you would with normal keyboards.
I'm not sure I was the best person to test this, mainly because I'm a touch typist and don't need to look at the keyboard (one of the reasons I love the all-black, no labels Das Keyboards). Also, most of the testing occurred in a brightly lit office, I had to move the keyboard underneath the desk in a darker area just to see whether the keyboard had lit up or not.
In addition to the backlit keys, the Illuminated Keyboard features a very thin profile with a transparent frame for design-conscious users. Logitech says its "PerfectStroke" keys, which provide larger keys (as compared to notebook keyboards) will help improve the typing experience because a slightly longer distance is required for each key stroke. Other features include a soft-touch palm rest, and one-touch volume controls for music and video, along with the one-button access to applications like a media player, e-mail, Web browser, etc.
If you are working in a darker area and need a more silent keyboard, this keyboard is worth a look.
