Description: With other vendors in the portable external hard drive space offering capacities of 320GB and 500GB, it seems odd that Toshiba would offer a 400GB drive. Are they trying to capitalize on users who need more than 320GB, but less than 500GB?

Like others in this space (see our writeups of the Seagate and Western Digital drives), the Toshiba drive provides backup software (in this case, NTI Shadow), offers a stylish design, and is powered via USB. This model includes an internal shock sensor to protect data from drops, and works with Windows and Mac systems. I just don't understand why the capacity is 400GB.
