What is the purpose of the Enterprise All-Star Award program?
Through this program, it is our intent to honor user organizations that demonstrate exceptional use of network technology to further business objectives. Winners of the Enterprise All-Star Awards serve as role models for their industries, showcasing how technology can reduce spending, improve profits, grow the business or otherwise drastically impact operations.
What types of technologies are represented through the award program?
Technology categories include (but are not limited to):
Applications
Convergence/VoIP
E-commerce
LANs/Routers
Network and systems management
Operating systems
Security
Servers/Desktops
Storage
WANs
Wireless/Mobile
Who can submit a nomination?
Network/IT executives/project leaders at user organizations or their representatives. This includes corporate or vendor PR, as long as the network/IT executive/project leader has given consent.
Can I submit a nomination now?
Nominations are being accepted from June 11 through July 20. You can access the form here.
What are the nominee obligations?
If selected as an Enterprise All-Star Award winner, nominees must be available to discuss their projects in an in-depth interview conducted by a Network World editor or representative. They must be willing to discuss technology details, costs, ROI, business benefits and the like, providing factual and anecdotal evidence as necessary. Winners may be asked to participate in Network World's IT Roadmap Conference & Expo, but are not obligated to do so.
How are Enterprise All-Star Award winners honored?
Winners also get access to Network World's online community for peer-information exchange, expert advice, hosted discussions, and more.
How many entries are expected?
Based on previous year's programs, we expect to receive about 200 nominations.
How many winners will be selected?
Network World does not predetermine the numbers of winners for this program. We would expect to honor no fewer than 10 and no more than 50 winners.
Who will be judging the entries?
Network World editors will judge the nominations, in two rounds of judging.
What is the judging criteria?
Nominations will be judged based on a number of criteria, including how innovatively the company applied technology to solve its business problem; project scope; the value of the project to the company; and the value of the project as an industry example.
When will winners be notified?
Winners will be notified by Sept. 7.
When will the 2007 Enterprise All-Star winners be announced?
2007 Enterprise All-Star Award winners will be announced and profiled on www.networkworld.com and in the Nov. 12 issue of Network World.
How many years has Network World run this award program?
This award is in its third year. However, the Enterprise All-Star Awards program replaces the 15-year-long User Excellence Award and the 5-year-long Extended Enterprise Innovator Award.
