We've finally found some scientific proof that either Las Vegas and/or Comdex has a "weariness effect" on patrons.
The United States Postal Service (who always has a booth at these trade shows) was conducting a cycling challenge for attendees. Two stationary bicycles were set up in front of a computer monitor, and attendees were challenged to bike two laps as fast as they could.
A whiteboard next to the area had posted each day's fastest times, and each day the winning time was slower than the previous day (Monday's was fastest, then Tuesday, etc.). At 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, the fastest time was almost 8 seconds slower than Monday's time.
Winners for each day received a Lance Armstrong yellow jersey (non-autographed), and the person with the fastest time for all days would win a Trek mountain bike.
