TDV launches new monitors

TDV Vision this week launched a new series of 15-, 17- and 19-inch LCD flat-panel monitors that the company says use simplified circuitry to reduce costs and make more dependable.
The TDV monitors include a curved solid steel base with a built-in power supply, which helps minimize desk clutter, the company says. The 15-inch version weighs just over 5 lbs., and the 17-inch monitor weighs just under 9 lbs., TDV says. The series also includes two models of multimedia monitors, one that has speakers built into the screen, and the other with speakers built into the base. The monitors support Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT, 2000 and XP, as well as Macintosh OS-based computers. TDV says its 15-inch model will cost $299 and the 17-inch monitor will cost $399. Availability was not announced. TDV’s Web site is set to go live next Monday, a company spokeswoman said.
