Trade in old router, get new one for free

If you've got some old routers sitting in your closet, listen up – Linksys and Vonage today announced a program that lets users trade in any used router – any brand or model – and receive a Linksys Wireless-G Router with 2 Phone Ports (model WRTP54G) for free (after rebates) if they sign up for Vonage broadband service. The limited offer runs from now until Saturday, July 23, in the U.S. only, through select retail and e-commerce stores, Linksys said.
The "free" part of the offer does require some steps, however. In order to take advantage of the program, users need to buy the model at participating stores and receive a $10 mail-in rebate from Linksys and a $20 rebate from the participating store. After 90 days of Vonage service, Vonage will send another $50 rebate. After mailing the old router to Linksys and another 90 days of Vonage service, users will receive an additional $50 rebate, effectively making the router free ($130 value). Linksys and Vonage say that used routers will discarded and recycled in proper environmentally safe ways.
Participating re-selllers include Amazon.com, Best Buy, Buy.com, Circuit City, CompUSA, Fry's Electronics, Office Depot, Radio Shack and Staples.
