DragonDrive-1.jpgUS Modular said today it will soon begin shipping the Dragon Drive, a 100G-byte USB 2.0 bus-powered portable external hard drive system. The Dragon Drive will be available in July for about $280.

The device comes with a 2.5-inch hard drive, measures less than an inch high (weighs 4.6 oz.) and comes with a USB 2.0 or FireWire connection. The device is completely powered through the included two-port USB 2.0 cable or FireWire cable, the company added. The device can be used with PCs that have Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP, Macintosh systems with Mac OS 8.6 or later, and even some Linux systems.
