Toshiba launches new laptop

Toshiba's Computer Systems Group has announced the new Satellite 1405-S171, a $1,499 laptop that the company will market toward students and small to midsize businesses.

0812ToshibaSatellite1405-small (9k image)The 1405-S171 includes an Intel Celeron 1.5-GHz processor, a 15-inch TFT display and 16M bytes of graphics memory. It also has a built-in DVD-ROM/CD-RW multifunction drive, a 30G-byte hard drive, 256M bytes of RAM, integrated V.90 56K bit/sec and Ethernet LAN port. Options include adding wireless LAN connectivity. For more information, go to Toshiba's Web site.
