Raytek Corp. recently introduced the PhotoTemp MX6, an integrated infrared thermometer and digital camera. The PhotoTemp lets users take noncontact temperature measurements while documenting them with a digital photo. The device is designed for plant maintenance workers to let them photograph and store measurement results.
The MX6 can show the temperature measurement area and highlight it in a picture in the context of nearby objects, Raytek says. Temperature, location and date/time data are superimposed on the images when viewed on a computer or in reports, the company added. Up to 100 measurements and photos can be taken and stored in the device, which can then be downloaded later into a PC. Raytek includes Datatemp MX software for analysis and reporting.
The device will cost about $1,495, and includes a carrying case, two AA batteries, thermocouple probe, USB cable, software and user's guide on CD. For more information, go to Raytek's Web site .
