Network World Fusion, 05/22/02

Executive Software recently announced Sitekeeper 1.5, a system inventory and software deployment manager for Windows NT, 2000 and XP. The new version adds hardware inventory features to give system administrators more help in managing their systems.

The new hardware inventory feature provides real-time hardware inventory of selected machines on the network, which can be viewed by machine or device, Executive Software says.

Another new feature includes software inventory and license tracker, which provides a quick record of what software exists on each computer, and maintains an updated record for all software across the network. Information such as versions, updates and patches is included in the inventory tracker.

Finally, the software's PushInstaller lets system managers conduct remote software installation or software removal (uninstall) automatically, the company says. A trial version is available here, and the full version begins at $562 for up to 10 systems.
