Minolta releases 5-megapixel digital camera

Minolta has expanded its digital camera products with its new Single Lens-Reflex (SLR)-type DiMAGE 7Hi. The 5 megapixel camera, with 7x optical and 2x digital zoom lens now includes features such as a built-in flash synchronization terminal and 12-bit A/D conversion.
The optical zoom lens range is 7.2mm to 50.8mm, equivalent to 28mm to 200mm for 35mm cameras). The new built-in flash sync terminal lets the camera be connected to professional studio and location flash systems, just by plugging the flash's PC cord into the terminal. The camera can also record 16-bit audio with still and moving images. Along with QVGA digital movies, three new movie functions have been added.
The DiMAGE 7HI will be available by the end of September with an estimated price of $1,299. Go to Minolta's Web site for more details.
