Hands High Software has released Slap, Palm OS-based software that can convert notes to appointments, address book entries and tasks.
The program gives the handheld user one screen to enter notes, Hands High says. The user can enter appointments, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, task lists, etc., into one screen just as if they were entering it on a piece of paper. To organize the information, the user selects the note and taps an icon to send it to another application. Slap interprets the text selected and makes the entry into the program selected, Hands High says.
A user entering an appointment, for example, could write a note that says "Meeting with Marketing on Friday at 3." Tapping on the datebook item would let the Slap program convert the text to say "Meeting with Marketing," and the date and time would be set in the time field.
The Slap application can send data to the address book, date book, task list, memo pad, Hands High's ThoughtManager application, and Doc file readers, the company says. It includes a plug-in interface so developers of other applications can build support for Slap in their products. The software requires Palm OS 3.0 or above, and 150K bytes of free space.
