Network World Fusion, 10/16/02

I made it to Las Vegas in one piece and got to the press room five minutes before it closed, so I have to be brief. The only thing I wanted was to be able to connect my notebook wirelessly -- after all, I am at a wireless show. The hotel room has disappointed me, but the press room at the show has not -- a quick search via the Boingo Wireless scanner showed me 10 different wireless LANs had been set up.

Instead of trying to crack into some of the vendors' networks, I settled for the free network provided by the show, and sponsored by T-Mobile.

Satisfied with the connection, I was able to write an update and make it to the first meeting of the day.
