Fujitsu PC Corp. today launched a new model in its LifeBook S Series notebooks. The new notebook includes a 1.2GHz Mobile Intel Pentium III-M processor and a 60G-byte hard drive.
The thin and light notebook (measures 11.5- by 9.3- by 1.36-inches and weighs 4.5 lbs.) includes a modular bay into the "thin and light" form factor, which can accommodate a DVD/CD-RW combination drive, DVD, CD-ROM, floppy disk drive, second bay battery or a "weight saver" module. The notebook has a 13.3-inch XGA TFT display and integrated wireless LAN connectivity (optional).
Other features include two USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394 port, a built-in Smart Card Reader, up to 1G byte of RAM (two DIMM slots of 512M bytes each); built-in Ethernet and one Type I/II PC Card slot. Pricing starts at $1,499 for the notebook -- go to Fujitsu's Web site for more information.
