Network World Fusion, 10/22/02

NetGear recently launched its FA120 USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter. The device gives computers with USB 2.0 ports the ability to connect to the full 100M bit/sec. speeds of 10/100 Ethernet networks "by removing the bottleneck created by the older USB 1.1 technology," NetGear says.

netgearfa120.jpgThe FA120 is aimed at home and SOHO users who want to connect to an Ethernet Network on their PCs, but don't have the extra space for an internal networking card (or who don't want to install one on their older PCs).

The adapter is compatible with 802.3I 10Base-T Ethernet and 802.3u 100Base-TX Fast Ethernet standards, and supports Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP, NetGear says. The adapter will be available by the end of this month for about $40. Go to the NetGear Web site for more details.
