Network World Fusion, 10/23/02
There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to hook up your PS2 or Xbox game system to the Internet -- especially if you have a wireless network in your house.
D-Link recently became the third company to announce a wireless bridge that can connect to an Ethernet port of a device (the PS2 with its new network adapter and the Xbox qualify) to provide wireless connectivity via 802.11b. D-Link's DWL-810 Ethernet to Wireless Bridge can connect in either ad hoc mode (between devices) or in infrastructure mode to a wireless access point or router.
In addition, if the game console (or other Ethernet-port enabled device) is moved to another room, there is no need to reconfigure the wireless bridge, D-Link says. The DWL-810 costs about $99 and is available now. Go to the D-Link Web site for more details on the bridge.
