Network World Fusion, 10/25/02

M-Systems recently announced it would soon have USB 2.0 capabilities on its DiskOnKey flash-based storage products. The DiskOnKey 2.0 products would increase read speeds and offer backward compatiblity with USB 1.1 ports.

DiskOnKey256.jpgLarge files, such as videos, would be easier to transfer to the keychain-sized devices, M-Systems said, since the connection speed would go from 12M bit/sec up to 480M bit/sec. with the USB 2.0 technology. The devices that contain the USB 2.0 technology include DiskOnKey devices with 64M-, 128M-, 256M- (pictured), and 512M-bytes of capacity. These devices are currently shipping in Asia, and will be available in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2003, M-Systems said.
