Visioneer announced a new version of its Strobe color mobile scanner, the Strobe XP 100. The XP 100 is Visioneer's first USB-powered sheetfed scanner, and measures 11.4- by 2- by 1.5- inches. It weighs 10.6 oz. and costs $199, Visioneer said.
The Strobe XP 100 can automatically scan and organize several different materials, including letters, receipts, business cards, photos and legal-sized documents, Visioneer said. It includes Visioneer's Paper-driven and AutoLaunch technologies, which means a user can feed in documents and images into the front of the scanner and it turns itself on (and launches the software). Users can then file images, print them, use software to convert them to editable text, insert into a Web page or send via e-mail or fax.
The scanner has an optical resolution up to 600 dpi and 36-bit internal color, Visioneer said. Bundled software includes ScanSoft PaperPort Deluxe 8.0, ScanSoft TextBridge Pro 9 OCR and ArcSoft PhotoImpression 3.0. Minimum requirements for the scanner are a Pentium II 300 or equivalent processor; Windows 98, 2000, ME, or XP; 64M bytes of RAM (128M bytes for Windows XP); 200M bytes of hard drive space; a CD-ROM drive and USB port. Go to the Visioneer Web site for more details.
I'm trying to purchase a replacement cd for my scanner, paperport 3000, it is listed at no cost, my question to you is will my credit card be charged $9.99 for shipping and handleing, this seems a large amount for just a cd, please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you for any and all possible assistance you may provide.
