Planar Systems has launched a new family of flat-panel desktop monitors that include a special base for resistance-free swiveling, pivoting and height adjustments.
The first model, a 17-inch display that has a panel depth of two inches, includes a 16 msec response time for rendering video images, and SXGA (1280 by 1024 pixel) resolution. The PX171M also includes analog and digital video inputs (DVI), and has a pivot functionality to let users rotate the display from a landscape to a portrait mode. The monitor is available in white, black or silver, and also has integrated speakers. The PX171M costs $589. For more information, go to the Planar Web site .
