Network World Fusion, 12/17/02

Planar Systems announced today a 19-inch flat-panel monitor priced at $750. The PL190M includes an ultra-slim bezel design, analog and digital inputs, and 170-degree viewing angles. Planar said the monitor is aimed at business applications such as large spreadsheets, working with multiple windows or navigating several Web sites.

PlanarPL190M_black.jpgThe PL190M includes a 500:1 contrast ratio and supports 1280 by 1024 pixel resolution (SXGA). It has a 25 msec response time, Planar says, to deliver video quicker and crisper for applications such as video editing, movie viewing or gaming. The system comes with an optional Video-EX expansion accessory to connect the monitor to video game consoles, DVD players, digital video cameras or broadcast TV signals.

The monitor includes integrated speakers, and is available in white, black or silver. For more details, go to the Planar Web site.

Where can I purchase this latest slim model monitor? I live on the east coast near Baltimore. My home is in Frederick MD. Know you're quite a distance away -- if I read the computer info right. Want to give this as a gift. Do you recommend it?
