Ellula announced today it would launch its HotAir Subwoofer system at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The system includes a subwoofer and inflatable satellite speakers that can connect to devices such as portable CD players, desktop and laptop computers, MP3 players and video game consoles.

Ellula's blow-up speakers can attach to any device with external speaker hookups.

Any equipment that has inputs for external speakers can work with the system. The HotAir Subwoofer system will cost $99 and is available at the Ellula Web site. For technical data on the system, go to the NXT Web site.

Ellula said the speakers are nine inches high when inflated, and two inches when deflated. The plastic skin of the speakers work as a resonating surface, allowing for richer and wider range of sound with more bass, the company said. The HotAir Speakers are also available in two other styles, the C-2 and the Revo. The C-2, available in eight different colors, is aimed at a higher-end market, while the Revo (with seven colors and three different shapes) is geared at the teen market. Both the C-2 and Revo systems cost $49.95.
