Apple also this week launched its 20-inch Apple Cinema Display, a wide-format active-matrix LCD monitor with 1,680 by 1,050 pixel resolution. Apple says the monitor ($1,299) provides more work area than its previous 22-inch Cinema Display (20-inch model is flat panel).

Apple20-inch.jpgApple also lowered the price of its 23-inch Cinema HD Display (1,920 by 1,200 pixel resolution) from $3,499 down to $1,999. Its 17-inch Studio Display (1,280 by 1,024 pixel resolution) also got a price reduction, from $999 down to $699.

The new 20-inch Cinema Display measures less than 2-inches thick, with a wide format design and a 16:10 aspect ratio, Apple said. The monitor connects via Apple's Apple Display Connector (ADC), which carries a digital video signal, USB data and power over a single cable. The monitor also includes a self-powered, two-port USB hub to let users connect peripherals to the monitor.

Does anyone know the gaming performance of the 20" LCD display? Ive heard that apple refuses to disclose the pixel response time on these displays which makes me nervous. The pixel pitch is nice at just over .25mm. Ive looked at the display in the store and was very, very impressed with the sheer shaprness and quality of the imgages displayed. However I am rather interesed in motion..black to white response time. Email me at pezebaunk@yahoo.com if you have information, I would greatly apprecieate it.

i have bought and returned a samsung 191t, and an apple 17 inch lcd before settling on a 20 inch cinema lcd display for my windows pc computer. i had to buy the adc to dvi adapter, and a shareware program from powerstrip to be able to run this monitor on its native resoloution, but i must say that this is the sharpest, clearest display i have seen on my pc.

Most impressed with the display but what adaptor would I need to get in order to use it with a blue and white G3/350?

Cheers Mike.

Can an apple monitor like the 17,20 or 23-inch Apple Cinema Display used with a pc or would you need an adapter or software to receive proper functionality and same great quality as with an apple computer.
