Mobility Electronics launched Quickoffice Premier Version 7.0 here at the show. The software now includes support for native PC-created Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint file formats for Palm OS users, the company said.
With the software, users can more easily exchange files between Palm OS and Pocket PC handhelds, as well as Macintosh and Windows PCs. In addition, the software lets users open Word, Excel and PowerPoint attachments received via e-mail on Palm OS-based smart phones. Another feature is the ability to create or edit attachments in the software's Quickword and Quicksheet programs, which can then be opened by Microsoft users on their desktops.
The software is compatible with the Handspring Treo 270, 300, Kyocera 6035 and 7135, Samsung SPH-I300, I330 and the new I500, as well as the Tungsten W, Mobility Electronics said. The software is available at www.quickoffice.com and www.palmgear.com, and costs $49.95.
