New phones from LG at CTIA

Here are the LG phones that were launched at this year's CTIA show. Links open a new browser window.

LG 4010, an entry-level GSM (dual-band, 850/1900) that includes a monochrome display and blue backlight.

LG 4050, a mid-tier GSM dual-band (850/1900) phone that includes a 65,000-color screen. On the outside of the phone, includes an Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) display. The phone comes with an optional detachable camera.

LG 3100, a dual-band CDMA (1900/800, no AMPS) phone that has a new graphical user interface, Global Positioning System capabilities, and is the first handset with the new Qualcomm 6050 chipset.

LG 5450, an upper-tier phone (follow up to the 5350), that includes the new user interface, and has an embedded camera on the back of the phone. Also includes GPS features and runs on the CDMA 1x network.

LG 6000, a really nice-looking phone with a 262,000-color TFT display, and a 4x digital zoom camera. Also includes multi-shot feature, which lets you take three or five consecutive photos in a row. Look for this phone in late Q2 2003.

i WAS WONDERING IF OU KNEW OR HEARD.aNYTHING ABOUT SPRINT COMING OUT WITH A PHONE THAT HAD THE SAME CAPABILITIES AS THE NEXT TEL.mEANING WILL THERE BE THE TWO WAY RADIO FEATURE.AND IF SO WILL THERE A MODEL LIKE THE 5300 PLUS THE CAMERA. PLEASE WRITE BACK THANK YOU.

Hi -- No new phones were announced at the CTIA show that had the push-to-talk feature, but they did say that they were planning to have something out by the end of this year. Check out this link:

Check out this link for pictures and information about Sprint's new phones with embedded cameras (they've got 4 new ones, the closest to the 5300 from LG would probably be the Sanyo 8100 or Samsung A600).

What happened to their LG-9000, the replacement to the LG-3000TP? I have yet to find a NON-Palm, NON-PocketPC touchscreen phone, with speakerphone, which improves upon the capabilities of my LG-3000.

LG did come out with a 9000 but it was not a replacement to the 3000 as the 3000 is a sprint phone and the 9000 is verizon only.

The LG VX6000 will be coming out in verizon stores on tuesday July 8, 2003. I asked verizon how much it will be and they said they dont know and wont know probably until Monday night July, 7 2003.

Does anyone know if they're going to sell the 4010 in the US and if so, where? It's a great looking simple phone and for once it's not SILVER!!! I've been looking like crazy for a flip that's not silver and not overly complicated. This may fit the bill if I can get one.

I bought a lg300 tp. I am having trouble syncing it to my computer which is running Win98 SE any suggestions on what I can do? I get the error message "connection failed" any help would be appreciated.

Why aren't the cool cdma 1x phones that are put out by companies such as LG, samsung, and motorola that are available in asia not available here in North america and why do they have a a larger selection of cool cell phones that what is used on Verizon or Sprintpcs.???

I have been hearing that Sprint is coming out with the Two Way Radio as nextel?I have heard that verizon,at&t,and all cell phone companies except nextel can two way each other on the phone.

I've been trying to replace my LGVX4400B Verizon phone. Does anyone know what the retail price is. Bought it on a promo and it was stolen. Do you know if there will be a promo soon and if so, should I wait until the new model comes out? I'm borrowing an old Motorola which is okay for now.
