New phones from Siemens announced at the CTIA show in New Orleans last week include:
The SX1, a tri-band GSM phone (900/1800/1900) that supports Java applications, and PDA functions. Includes a 64,000-color screen and design changes that feature strips of keys on the side of the phone instead of on the keypad. The phone weighs about 4.1 oz., and will be available in Q3 2003, Siemens said.
The M56, a dual-band GSM (850/1900) phone that includes multimedia capabilities, gaming and personalization functions. The phone has a 4,096-color display, and has a clip-on camera attachment for taking photos. Coming in Q4 2003, Siemens said.
The SL56, a dual-band GSM phone (850/1900) that has a new "slider design." The design lets a user slide the phone's keypad from underneath the phone. The phone also includes a 4,096-color display, supports Multimedia Messaging Service and weighs about 2.8 oz. The phone will be available in Q3 2003, Siemens said.
