eMachines this week announced three new desktops as part of its Spring 2003 lineup. The desktops start at $399 and offer Intel-based processors, the company said.
The company has doubled the memory it provides on its $499 and $599 models (the T2245 and T2385, repsectively), and has also added Ethernet networking features to some models. The new models include:
The T2240 is the $399 entry-level model, and now comes standard with Ethernet and six USB 2.0 ports. The T2240 includes an Intel Celeron 2.2GHz processor, 128M bytes of DDR RAM, a 40G-byte hard drive, Intel Extreme Graphics 3D video card, 56K bit/sec. V.92 modem, a 48x-speed CD-ROM drive, multimedia keyboard, wheel mouse and stereo speakers.
The T2245, which starts at $499, is aimed at multimedia enthusiasts who want to burn CDs. The 2245 includes an Intel Celeron 2.2GHz processor, an Ethernet port, 256M bytes of DDR RAM, a 40G-byte hard drive, Intel Extreme Graphics 3D video card, a 56K bit/sec. V.92 modem, 40x-speed CD-RW drive, a 16x-speed DVD drive, six USB 2.0 ports, multimedia keyboard, wheel mouse and stereo speakers.
The T2385, which starts at $599, expands on the 2245 with some additional storage and a faster processor. The T2385 includes an Intel Celeron 2.3GHz processor, standard Ethernet port, 512M bytes of DDR RAM, an 80G-byte hard drive, Intel Extreme Graphics 3D video card, 56K bit/sec. V.92 modem, 48x-speed CD-RW and 16x-speed DVD drives, six USB 2.0 ports, a premium multimedia keyboard, wheel mouse and stereo speakers.
All the new machines include Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Works 6.0, Money 2002, Encarta Online, and a 90-day AOL 8.0 membership. A 90-day trial of Norton AntiVirus 2003 is also included. Go to the eMachines Web site for more details.
