Samsung today announced availability of its n270 cell phone (also known as the “Matrix phone”) in conjunction with the upcoming release of “The Matrix Reloaded” movie.
The n270 is an exact replica of the phone used in the movie, and will include numerical markings that help prove its exclusivity, Samsung said. The phone is being sold exclusively through a special Samsung/Matrix Web site. Samsung is partnering with InPhonic, a company helping to provide the online distribution of the phone. The company says that orders of the n270 will be shipped within 24 hours of the online purchase.
The phone includes a pop-up earpiece that reveals a 65,000-color TFT LCD screen, and includes pre-loaded movie clips from “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Animatrix.” Also included are 40 polyphonic melodies and embedded movie sound clips to use as ring tones, Samsung said.
The phone measures 4.52- by 2.28- by 0.78-inches, and weighs about 4.5 oz. Sprint is providing service for the dual-band, tri-mode CDMA 1x phone. It costs $499.99, plus carrier service fees (for voice, etc.).
No word yet on whether you can stop time or bullets with the phone, but I doubt it.

I hate my phone, do not buy this phone, this phone only works in the matrix. You are not even buying a phone. It is a program that makes you think you are buying a phone. Agent Smith has a better phone.

The phone looks kick @$$.......but it costs $500.......so Neo can keep his pop out phone. I have to disagree with the other guy though. Agent Smith's phone sucks, but at least some people can afford it.

I want the matrix phone...BAD. The price is a bit steep but i can save up. thats not the problem. the problem is that it's only available on the net and not to the public shops. is there any chance that this will happen? also is that $500 price U.S or Australian cos if it's U.S that means i have to pay about $1000 for a phone i i'm not that big of a matrix fan.
