Visioneer today launched a new version of its Slimline scanner series, the OneTouch 9120 USB color scanner. The 48-bit, USB 2.0 scanner costs $99.99 and provides scanning resolutions of 2,400 by 4,800 dpi, Visioneer said. The scanner also scans quicker, with a 4-inch by 6-inch photo at 300 dpi being able to be scanned in less than seven seconds, the company said. The scanner can also scan photo prints, 35mm slides and negatives with the included slide and negative adapter.
The 9120 has five buttons (scan, copy, OCR, e-mail and customized task), which are pre-configured at the optimal settings for first-time users, Visioneer said. Bundled software includes ScanSoft's PaperPort SE 8.0 with built-in TextBridge Pro OCR and ArcSoft's PhotoImpression 3.0. For more details on the product, visit the Visioneer Web site.
