Chem USA this week launched a new notebook that it says it has optimized for "on-the-road" mobility. The ChemBook 2150 Series Notebook uses the Intel Centrino mobile wireless technology, has a Pentium M processor, up to 768M bytes of RAM, optional USB external slim combination drive, and a USB floppy drive.
The notebook is available now, and starts at $1,569. Other features include a 12.1-inch active matrix TFT XGA display (1,024 by 768 pixel resolution) with 256,000 colors, up to 80G-bytes in hard drive space, an Intel 855 internal graphics card, one Type II PC Card slot, and a 3-in-1 expansion card slot that supports Secure Digital, MultiMedia Card and Memory Stick media.
Connectivity options include internal 802.11b wireless LAN, an integrated V.92 modem, 10/100 Fast Ethernet port, three USB 2.0 ports, a 15-pin VGA port for an external monitor, and one IEEE 1394 port. The notebook measures 10.8- by 9.2- by 0.7-inches and weighs 2.86 pounds (with the battery). The battery offers up to four hours of live standard, and comes with a removable three-cell lithium ion unit with an extra two hours of life, Chem USA said.
