Network World Fusion, 01/23/04

Kanguru Solutions this week launched a new device that lets users burn Flash card (media card) data directly onto a CD without needing a computer.

Kanguru-CardReader.jpgThe new KanguruFC-RW is a $199.95 device that lets users of seven different flash media cards (Compact Flash, IBM Microdrive, Smart Media, Secure Digital, Sony Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and MultiMedia Card) write directly to a blank CD.

When connected to a computer (via USB 2.0), the device becomes an external 36x-speed CD-RW drive and 7-in-1 card reader. When plugged into any wall socket, the device acts as a portable CD player. Pretty cool.

For more information on the device, go to the Kanguru Web site.
