Network World Fusion, 05/04/04

IOGEAR this week launched an 802.11g wireless LAN notebook PC card that it claims to be the "shortest Wi-Fi 802.11g notebook network card" in the industry.

IOGEAR-short.jpgWhile it's always tough to verify this, the IOGEAR card is small enough so that it doesn't "jut out" when inserted into a PC Card slot on a notebook. IOGEAR claims that with its new Wireless-G Notebook Network Short Card, users can leave the card in the computer when packing up the notebook, thus saving the time and energy involved in removing the card.

The card costs $50, and supports Windows 98 and above systems. The card includes Funk Software's Odyssey client to support WLAN authentication methods, including EAP-TTLS, EAP-PEAP, EAP-TLS and LEAP, the company said. For more details, go to the IOGEAR Web site.
