I/OMagic Corp., which makes data storage and digital entertainment products, today launched a new line of headphones for the PC and consumer electronics market.
The I/OMagic Sound Assault 5.1 Channel Surround Sound Headphone system includes a power amplifier (and control station), eight independent speakers, and bundled software. The $100 system is now shipping, the company said.
Other features include the ability to connect to a 5.1-speaker-enabled PC, home audio system or DVD player, built-in bass "rumble" effects, and dual headphone ports for multiple users. Bundled software includes WinDVD and WinRip software, which lets users convert standard stereo songs into a simulated 5.1 channel surround sound environment.
