ViewSonic also launched a new HDTV-ready plasma display, the 42-inch VPW4255.
The device will be available in July for about $5,500, and features 1,024 by 1,024 native resolution, and supports numerous data sources and video signals, including HDTV, enhanced definition television, and standard television. Other features include progressive scan, motion adaptive de-interlacing, and 3-D comb filter technology, ViewSonic added.
The display has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 1,100 nits of brightness, and a 160-degree viewing angle. Inputs include composite, component, S-video, analog RGP and DVI/HDCP. Features include support for picture-in-picture, split-screen or full-screen windows for data, video and TV signals. The display can be attached to a wall, ceiling or a stand, ViewSonic added.
