RoadTrip.jpgNewer Technology and Other World Computing (OWC) said today it was shipping the NewerTech RoadTrip FM transmitter, an adapter that lets Apple iPod users stream songs through a car's audio system on the 107.7 FM radio frequency. The device is available for $19.99 through the MacSales Web site.

The RoadTrip adapter connects to a vehicle's 12-volt cigarette lighter, and has a 3.5-mm stereo jack. It can work with all versions of the iPod (including the iPod mini), as well as other MP3 players or other devices with a 3.5-mm jack.

The company claims that the RoadTrip locks clean to the 107.7 frequency, and doesn't suffer signal bleed or drift that can occur with other FM transmitters, some of which let the user pick what frequency to transmit to.
