Network World Fusion, 11/09/04

It may not look like much, but the Iomega USB 2.0 Mini Hard Drive does something that a lot of other hard drives can't do -- get its power solely off the USB cable.

Iomega-miniHD.jpgThe hard drive is now available, and comes in 20G-byte ($180) and 40G-byte ($280) capacities. The device uses 1.8-inch hard disk technology, weighs 3.5 oz., and receives 100% of its power from a standard USB data port, which means travelers don't have to lug around an extra power cord in order to bring it with them on trips. The drive operates at 4200 rpm and has an aluminum enclosure, USB 2.0 interface that works with Windows (ME and above) and Macintosh systems (G4, G3, or iMac with Mac OS 9.0 or above), and an on/off switch that lets laptop users power down the drive without having to disconnect it. Bundled software includes MusicMatch Jukebox and Adobe Photoshop Album SE for digital photos.

Go to the Iomega Web site for more details.
